What We Believe

OUR  THEOLOGICAL  STATEMENTS

SUMMARY

Kingdom Life Church is a nondenominational Christian church.
In addition to mainstream Christian theology, we also teach and embrace the gifts of the Holy Spirit as relevant to, and necessary for 21st Century Christian living and service. We believe that the five ministry graces of Christ (Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, and Teacher of Ephesians 4:11-16) are still available, relevant and in operation in the corporate Church today.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

THE HOLY SCRIPTURES

We believe the Bible is the Divinely inspired Word of God. We understand that the 66 books of the Old and New Testament reveal all things necessary for mankind's salvation, and that whatever is not contained therein is not to be enjoined as an article of faith. (Luke 24:44-47; John 10:35; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 1 Peter 1:10-12; 2 Peter 1:20-21).

WHAT WE BELIEVE:

THE ETERNAL GODHEAD

We believe in one eternally existent, holy, infinite God, the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe. He is Triune meaning 1 God yet 3 distinct persons. Being, revealed as God-The-Father, God-The-Son, and God-The-Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1; Leviticus 19:2; Deuteronomy 6:4-5; Isaiah 5:1; Isaiah 6:1-7; 40:18-31; Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19-20; John 14:6-27; 1 Corinthians 8:6; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Galatians 4:4-6; Ephesians 2:13-18; 1 John 1:5; 4:8). We believe in Jesus Christ, the Second Person of the Triune Godhead; that He was, and is, eternally one with the Father. Jesus became incarnate in the earth realm, by the Holy Spirit; and was born of the Virgin Mary, so that two natures (God and man) were united in one Person the God-man, Jesus Christ (Matthew 1:20-25; 16:15-16; Luke 1:26-35; John 1:1-18; Acts 2:22-36; Romans 8:3, 32-34; Galatians 4:4-5; Philippians 2:5-11; Colossians 1:12-22; 1 Timothy 6:14-16; Hebrews 1:1-5; 7:22-28; 1 John 1:1-3; 4:2-3; 15). We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Third Person of the Triune Godhead. We believe that He is ever present and efficiently active in the world to convict individuals of personal sin; regenerating those who repent and believe; and guiding believers into all truth. We further believe in the Baptism or infilling of the Holy Spirit whereby both the gifts and fruit of the Spirit are manifested in the believer's life. (John 7:39; 14:15-18, 26; 16:7-15; Acts 2:33; 15:8-9; Romans 8:1-27; Galatians 3:1-14; 4:5; Ephesians 3:14-21; 1 Thessalonians 4:7-8; 2 Thessalonians 2:14; 1 Peter 1:2; 1 John 3:24; 4:13).

WHAT WE BELIEVE:

SALVATION

We believe that Jesus Christ, by His sufferings, by the shedding of His own blood, and by His death on the Cross-, made full atonement for all human sin. We believe that salvation is wholly by grace through faith; that no human righteousness or merit can contribute to our receiving God's love and favor. We believe that upon true repentance for sin and a whole-hearted acceptance of Christ we are justified before God through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ (John 1:12-14; 5:24; Romans 1:17; 3:21-26; 4:4-9; 5:1-2; 16-19; 6:4; 8:1-2; 15-17; 1 Corinthians 1:30; 6:11; 2 Corinthians 5:17-21; Galatians 2:16-21; 3:1-14, 26; 4:4-7; Ephesians 1:6-7; 2:1, 4-5; Philippians 3:3-9; Colossians 2:13; Titus 3:4-7; 1 Peter 1:23; 1 John 1:9; 3:1-3, 9; 4:7; 5:1, 9-13, 18) .

WHAT WE BELIEVE:

HEAVEN AND HELL

We believe that Jesus died by Crucifixion, was buried, and on the third day arose from the dead by the life-giving power of God; that He ascended to the right hand of the Father and that He shall return to the earth in glory to receive His Bride, both the living and those who have died in faith to be forever with Him in heaven. We believe that those who are the living and dead impenitent at the Lord’s return, shall forever be separated from God. We believe that hell is a place of darkness, deepest sorrow and unquenchable fire, prepared for the devil and his angels; yet it will become the place of eternal separation for those who have rejected Jesus Christ as Savior. (Matthew 25:31-46; Mark 9:43-48; Luke 16:19-31; 20:27-38; John 3:16-18; 5:25-29; 11:21-27; Acts 17:30-31; Romans 2:1-16; 14:7-12; 1 Corinthians 15:12-58; 2 Corinthians 5:10; 2 Thessalonians 1:5-10; Revelation 20:11-15; 22:1-15).

WHAT WE BELIEVE:

BAPTISM

Baptism is a sacrament signifying entrance of an individual into the Family of God through the atonement of Jesus Christ (His death, burial, and resurrection). As Christ was baptized, died, and arose from the dead; the baptized individual attests to die to their old life of sin (immersion) and to now walk in the newness of life in Christ (ascension from the water). Baptism is to be administered to believers upon the public profession of their faith in Jesus Christ. Baptized persons are immersed fully in water, in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit - all in the Name of Jesus.

WHAT WE BELIEVE:

COMMUNION

We believe that The Lord Jesus gave the ordinance (sacred practice) of Communion (The Last Supper)  to the Church. Communion is a sacrament declarative of the sacrificial death of Jesus; wherein believers receive bread, the symbol of Christ’s broken body; and the fruit of the vine (grape juice or wine), the symbol of the shed blood of Jesus on the Cross. The Lord’s Supper is to be received with joy and faith in Christ alone (Matthew 3:1-7; 28:16-20; Acts 2:37-41; 8:35-39; 10:44-48; 16:29-30; Romans 6:3-4; Galatians 3:26-28; Colossians 2:12; 1 Peter 3:18-22; Exodus 12:1-14; Matthew 26:26-29; Mark 14:22-25; Luke 22:17-20; John 6:28-58; 1 Corinthians 10:14-21; 11:23-32).

WHAT WE BELIEVE:

LAYING ON OF HANDS

“Hands” in Scripture are often connected with both natural and spiritual power. We believe and practice the “laying on of hands” when: praying for the sick, conferring the Holy Spirit, impartation of spiritual gifts, in connection with prophecy, to give guidance and confirmation, bestowing spiritual blessing, confirmation and ordination of ministries, and sending out ministries from the local church (Numbers 8:9-11; Deuteronomy 34:9; Mark 16:18; Luke 4:40; Acts 5:12; 6:6; 13:2-3; 28:8; 2 Timothy 1:6, 14; 1 Timothy 4:14; 5:22).

WHAT WE BELIEVE:

GIVING

We believe that tithing (1/10 of our income) and offerings are ordained of God to demonstrate our obedience to give, to demonstrate our faith in Him, thereby sustaining ministry in the local Church and throughout the world for the spread of the Gospel. We believe that faithfulness in tithes and offerings release personal blessings. (Genesis 14:18-20; Malachi 3:10; Luke 11:42; Hebrews 6:19-20; 7:1-8).

WHAT WE BELIEVE:

MARRIAGE AND SEX

We believe that marriage is created by God, and He has defined it as a covenant relationship between one man and one woman under the headship of Jesus Christ for life. Marriage is meant to reflect Christ's relationship with the church (Eph. 5:21-33. Gen. 2:24, Matt. 19:4-5). We believe that the Bible clearly lays out the moral boundaries for sex and sexuality. Sex is reserved for one man and one woman who have been joined together by God in the union of a legal marriage, and anything outside of that is considered "sexually immoral." The Bible gives us very clear descriptions of sex outside the boundaries of moral action which includes: adultery, sex outside of marriage, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, lust after another person (which includes pornography), etc... (Matt. 15:18-20, 1 Cor. 6:9-10, Matt. 5:27-28, Rom. 1:18-32).
